Ningbo, China – May 22, 2025 — The 4th China-Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) Expo & International Consumer Goods Fair commenced today in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, spotlighting deepening economic ties and cultural exchange between China and CEEC nations. The event anticipates import purchases from CEECs exceeding 10 billion yuan (approximately $1.43 billion), underscoring China’s commitment to expanding trade with the region.
Co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Zhejiang Provincial Government, the expo runs from May 22 to 25 under the theme “New Visions for the Future.” It features over 400 exhibitors from 14 CEECs, including Slovenia and Slovakia as guest countries of honor. The CEEC exhibition area spans 20,000 square meters, showcasing more than 8,000 specialty products such as Czech beer, Slovenian honey, Hungarian down products, and Slovenian ski gear.
The fair also includes participation from nine other countries, including first-time exhibitors from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, enhancing its international profile.
Key events encompass over 50 targeted matchmaking sessions, the China-CEEC Business Council Meeting, and the China-CEEC Dialogue on Customs, Inspection, and Quarantine Cooperation. These activities aim to foster practical cooperation in trade, investment, and cultural exchange.
To facilitate smoother trade, Ningbo Customs has implemented measures such as priority inspections and expedited clearance for imported exhibits, including food and cosmetics. Additionally, the use of ATA Carnets simplifies temporary imports, and policy updates have reduced quarantine approvals for certain food products, accelerating the clearance process.
The expo reflects the growing economic relationship between China and CEECs. In 2024, Ningbo’s trade with CEECs reached 56.13 billion yuan, a threefold increase since 2017. In the first quarter of 2025, trade volume rose 19.8% year-on-year to 15.29 billion yuan.
With a focus on practical outcomes and enhanced cooperation, the 4th China-CEEC Expo serves as a pivotal platform for strengthening China-CEEC relations and exploring new avenues for mutual growth.
