In a significant move aimed at strengthening bilateral economic cooperation, the President of Iran held a high-profile meeting with a delegation of Omani and Iranian businessmen during his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The meeting, which took place in Muscat, brought together key figures from the commercial and industrial sectors of both countries. Discussions centered around enhancing trade relations, exploring investment opportunities, and expanding joint ventures across various industries including energy, petrochemicals, agriculture, logistics, and tourism.
President emphasized Iran’s commitment to deepening economic ties with Oman, calling the private sector a “pillar of sustainable development and regional cooperation.” He praised Oman’s role as a strategic trade partner and a gateway to the Gulf and East Africa.
Omani officials and business leaders welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism about the potential for increased collaboration. They highlighted Iran’s capabilities in manufacturing and energy and noted the importance of improving transportation links and easing trade barriers to facilitate smoother economic exchanges.
The Iranian president also stressed the importance of financial and banking cooperation between the two countries to support private sector initiatives. He called for the creation of a joint working group to identify obstacles to trade and to develop practical solutions aimed at boosting two-way commerce.
The meeting is part of a broader diplomatic effort to enhance Iran’s regional relations and economic resilience amid ongoing global challenges. Analysts see this engagement as a step toward fostering greater economic integration between Gulf nations and Iran, especially as both countries seek to diversify their economies beyond oil.
The visit also included the signing of preliminary agreements to facilitate business exchanges and organize future trade forums between the two countries.
As Iran continues to pursue regional diplomacy, the focus on economic cooperation with Oman marks a pragmatic approach to mutual growth and stability in the region.
